DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern softball will now turn its attention to the conference schedule as it hits the road for Alva, Okla., to face Northwestern Oklahoma State in a four game series Feb. 19-20, with a twinbill at 2 p.m. Friday followed by another at noon on Saturday.

The Savage Storm had its ups and downs over the first two weekends of the season against a difficult schedule, finishing 4-6 over that span, but will be carrying the momentum of a 5-4 win over Minnesota State in its last outing.

Jessica Simmons paces the SE offense with 13 hits and a .419 average with a pair of doubles, a triple, a team-best seven RBI and six runs scored to go with her eight stolen bases.

She is joined over the .400 mark by Jordyn James who is hitting .417 with 10 hits, two of which were home runs, along with a double, four RBI and three runs scored.

However, overall the Storm is hitting .260 on the year, while opponents have lifted their average to .306 over the first 10 games.

Emily Cudd leads the pitching staff with a 3-2 record with a 3.69 ERA in seven appearances and a team-high 24.2 innings pitched.  She has allowed 13 earned runs and struck out 16 while holding opponents to a .274 batting average.

The Rangers come into the weekend with a 1-7 mark on the season after trips to San Angelo, Texas, and Bentonville, Ark.  They opened the year with four losses before topping Missouri S&T and have dropped three-straight since.

NWOSU is hitting .234 as a team while its foes are posting a .364 average, with the Ranger offense led by Megan Sanders who is hitting .400, while Jordan Haya and Madison McGraw have a team-best nine hits each.

Lacey Hudson has a trio of homers to lead the team while Stephanie Couser has driven in seven.

The Ranger pitching staff carries a 5.57 ERA combined, with Jalena Arthur leading the starters with a 4.88 mark in five starts, picking up the team's lone win while striking out a staff-best 11.
