DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern women's tennis hit its first bumps of the season, dropping back-to-back matches, the first being a 5-0 loss at No. 10 Southwest Baptist followed by a 5-4 loss in the conference opener against Oklahoma Baptist.

The losses drop the Savage Storm to 1-2 on the season heading into a March 3-4 road swing to face Laredo CC and St. Mary's.

In Sunday's matchup with the 10
th-ranked Bearcats SE got off to a rough start by getting swept in doubles play, entering singles down 3-0.

SBU would end the match with wins at the number two and three positions, despite the Storm number one
Anna Buiukian being on pace to at least split the first two sets against her opponent.

In Monday's home and Great American Conference opener nearly every match was a back-and-forth affair.

OBU came out of doubles play with a 2-1 lead, with the Storm picking up a win at three doubles where
Conchi Assiego and
Maria Martinez picked up a 9-7 win.

Buiukian did get her win this time at number one and evened the match at 2-2.

SE would also get wins by Franzi Richsfeld who won at number five in comeback fashion, 2-6, 6-0, 6-3, with Martinez sweeping to a 6-1, 6-0 win at number six.

However, the Storm suffered a three-set loss at number four as well as losses at numbers two and three to fashion the 5-4 loss.
