SE Sets Out to Finish Strong at UAM

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern heads into the final weekend of the regular season looking to secure the No. 3 seed in the postseason tournament as it travels to Arkansas-Monticello for a four-game series April 22-23 in Monticello, Ark.
 
Saturday's double-header is set for a 1 p.m. first pitch, while Sunday's is slated to begin at noon.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with a 27-19 overall record and a 23-13 mark in Great American Conference play, which is good for third place with a four-game lead in the loss column over Harding.
 
SE will continue to look to National Player of the Year Finalist Jessica Simmons to pace the offense as she enters the weekend with a .482 average with 13 doubles, a triple, four homers alongside 22 RBI and 43 runs scored.  She also leads the conference in stolen bases with 44 on the year.  
 
Sydney Kramer, Laramie Beal and Destiny Riddle are each hitting over .300 as well.
 
Beal leads the team with five home runs and 30 RBI, while Kramer is at 26 RBI and is second in line with 15 stolen bases.  Riddle leads the conference in sacrifice hits with 16.
 
Emily Cudd boasts the pitching staff's best ERA at 3.30 with a 12-8 record, while Jessica Seay leads the way in wins with a 13-9 record and a 3.44 ERA and also leads the way with 24 starts, four saves and 103 strikeouts.
 
UAM enters the final weekend with a 28-24 overall record and a 22-18 mark in league play holding sixth place.
 
McKenzie Rice leads the club with a .352 average, while she and Holly Wilmarth are tied for the team lead with 13 home runs apiece.  Wilmarth paces the club with 41 RBI.
 
Elizabeth Delafield carries the best ERA of the team's starters at 3.11 with an 8-5 record, while Kendra Coleman has a 14-11 mark with a 3.68 ERA and 148 strikeouts.
