BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern swept doubles play and carried that momentum to a 5-1 win over Harding in the semifinal of the Great American Conference Tournament to earn a trip to the championship match on Saturday afternoon.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 12-3 heading into the championship match which is slated for 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon where they will face the winner between Arkansas Tech and East Central which was yet to be completed.

Anna Buyukyan and
Franzi Richtsfeld picked up the first SE points of the match by earning an 8-6 win at the two doubles position.

Conchi Assiego and
Maria Martinez followed up with an 8-3 win at three doubles to open up a 2-0 lead.

Alexsandra Reljic and
Darija Catipovic would complete the sweeop by gutting out a 9-8 win with an 8-6 win in the tiebreaker to make the score 3-0 heading to singles.

A Bisons win at number three singles would trim the lead to 3-1, but Martinez followed up with a straight-set 6-1, 6-1 win over Brittany Smyser at number four to push the edge to 4-1.

Richtsfeld would bring the match to a close after pulling away with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Arielle Butler at the five positions to make the final 5-1.

SE had also won the first set in each of the other three unfinished singles matches.
