FORT SMITH, Ark. – Southeastern swept through singles play en route to an 8-1 win over Arkansas-Ft. Smith in Ft. Smith, Ark.

The win lifted the Savage Storm to 7-3 overall on the year heading into a three-game home stretch beginning with Collin County CC on April 7 at 3 p.m. and including a pair of Great American Conference matches with Arkansas Tech on April 8 at 1 p.m. and Henderson State at 1 p.m. on April 10.

The only stumble SE had in the entire match against UAFS was at the one doubles position, but
Anna Buiukian and
Franzi Richtsfeld quickly evened the score with an 8-6 win at number two.

Conchi Assiego and
Maria Martinez extended that lead t0 2-1 with an 8-5 win at number three.

Buiukian led the way at the one position in singles with a 7-5, 6-4 win, followed by a 6-3, 6-2 win by
Alexsandra Reljic at the number two spot to take a 4-1 lead.

Darija Catipovic clinched the match with a 6-5, 6-3 win at number three.

Martinez added a 6-3, 6-2 win at number four and Richtsfeld turned in a 6-0, 5-1 win at number five.

Assiego rounded out the match and set the final score at 8-1 with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the six position.
