DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will look to maintain its momentum and break a tie for second place in the conference standings when it hosts Oklahoma Baptist April 8-9 for a three-game series at The Ballpark in Durant. Game one on Friday is set for a 2 p.m. start, with a double-header on Saturday set for 1 p.m.
The Savage Storm have moved to 19-17 overall and 14-7 ion Great American Conference play after winning four-straight and winning its last five conference series. That run has moved them into a tie for second with OBU, three games back in the loss column from Arkansas-Monticello in first.
The SE offense has been solid over that stretch with five hitters pushing their averages over the .300 mark, led by
Dylan Helms at .355 with 10 doubles, six home runs and 21 RBI.
Greg Husnander checks in with a .346 mark, four homers and 13 RBI, followed by
Corban Taylor at .330 with 10 RBI,
Kaleb Thomas at .326 with 18 RBI and
Logan Terwilliger at .319 with a team-best 30 RBI.
Matt Benedict leads the pitching staff with a 2.95 ERA, while
Dylan Linke has recorded a team-best five wins.
Brady Colbert has added eight saves with a 4-1 record in relief and a team-high 49 strikeouts.
The Bison come in with a 23-11 record overall and a 14-7 mark in GAC play, but have dropped their last two and five of their last seven.
Brandon Cuddy leads a group of five .300 hitters with a .345 average and a team-best 40 RBI, while Ryan Joyce has a team-high 11 home runs and added 38 RBI.
Jinny Parra leads the pitching staff with an 8-1 record with a 2.69 ERA, while Carson McPherson has a team-best 2.26 ERA and 70 strikeouts.
