Baseball Set for First GAC Road Trip

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will look to pick up its first Great American Conference victory when it makes its first league road trip of the season to take on Arkansas-Monticello in a three-game series Feb. 24-25 in Monticello, Ark.
 
Game one of the series on Friday is slated for a 2 p.m. first pitch, while a double-header on Saturday will start at noon.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with a 1-8 mark overall on the season and an 0-3 record in in GAC play and is itching to snap a six-game losing skid.
 
Brett Akins paces the SE offense with a .357 average that includes a double, three RBI and three runs scored.
 
Hunter Harrison, Jett Swigart, Jake Perez and Garrin Young each have four RBI, while Harrison leads the team with a pair of home runs.
 
Mike Wade leads the team in ERA with a 1.17 mark in 7.2 innings pitched over two appearances, while Brandon Wolski is at 3.09 over four appearances and a team-high 11.2 innings pitched.
 
Cody Nitson recorded the team's win, while Wolski also leads the way in strikeouts with 11.
 
UAM enters the series with a 3-8 mark overall and a 1-2 record in league play after opening and closing its series at East Central with loses.
 
The Boll Weevils are pace on offense by Lathan McFadden who is hitting .367 with eight RBI, while Andres Rios has knocked in 12 RBI to lead the team in that category and is hitting .333.
 
None of the four players who have earned a start for UAM has recorded a win, while Dawson Moser, McFadden and Jared Lipke have tallied one each in relief.
