DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern picked up its third-straight win and opened Great American Conference play with a win by downing Southern Nazarene on Tuesday by an 8-1 score at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 8-2 overall on the season and 1-0 in GAC play, with its next match slated for March 24 against Cameron at 2 p.m. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

The win is the third in-a-row as SE was dominant, sweeping all three doubles matches to open, while the lone singles loss was the only three-set match of the contest.

The No. 24 ranked doubles pair of
Alexsandra Reljic and
Darija Catipovic took one doubles by an 8-5 score to open play.

Anna Buiukian and
Samantha Coquinos followed suit with an 8-6 win at number two, with
Luisa Auffarth and
Maria Martinez completing the sweep with an 8-1 win at number three.

Buiukian would play the top singles spot and push the lead to 4-0 after winning the first set 6-3 before Polina Chala decided to retire the match.

Coquinos provided the clinch at number two after cruising to a 6-3, 6-1 win over Noelia Gomez.

Despite suffering a setback at the three position, Martinez would get things back on track with a 6-3, 6-3 win at number four.

Auffarth would follow suit with a 6-4, 6-3 win at number five, while
Conchi Assiego would close out the 8-1 victory by dominating the number six match with a 6-0, 6-0 win.

The wins come after Buiukian, Coquinos, Catipovic and Martinez each posted back to back win in their singles matches in a 6-3 win over Northwest Missouri State and a 6-2 win over Newman in their last two outings.
