DURANT, Okla. – After cruising to a dominating 58-0 victory in the season opener, Southeastern sets out looking for an encore performance in its home opener on Sept. 9 when it hosts Oklahoma Baptist at 6 p.m. on Paul Laird Field.
The Savage Storm come into the contest riding high off a 58-0 win in the opener over Southern Nazarene which marked the most points in a game and the largest margin of victory since a 102-0 win over Oklahoma City College in 1922, and the most points scored in a season opener since a 101-0 win over Tishomingo A&M in 1913.
SE clicked on all cylinders in that contest en route to piling up 544 yards of total offense.
Rashod Polk led the rushing attack with 94 yards, while Kieron Hardrick added 90 and the team combined to rush for 262 yards and four scores.
CB Cantwell added an 8-of-11 performance through the air for 226 yards and three touchdowns while just playing the first half.
Southeastern tacked on a score in the return game as well with OJ Walker turning in the team's first punt return since 2015 by tying the school record and snapping the GAC record with a 93 yard punt return score.
The Storm have won the last two meetings with Oklahoma Baptist which includes a 42-22 victory in Shawnee, Okla., a season ago.
OBU put up 597 yards in a 55-34 loss to East Central in the season opener, with 440 of that coming through the air.
Preston Haire led that charge with 230 yards on 10-of-13passing with two scores, while Dezmond Stegall got the start and went 14-of-28 for 210 yards and a TD.
Alex Lewis went for 160 receiving and a touchdown, while Isaiah Mallory led the rushing game with 72 yards.
