DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern was unable to bounce back from tough doubles losses in the home opener, and fell to St. Edwards, 6-3 on Saturday afternoon at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
The loss is the team's second in-a-row after a 5-1 road loss to Seward County earlier in the week and moves the Savage Storm to 2-4 overall on the year.
SE fell in a 3-0 hole after getting swept in doubles play.
Alexsandra Reljic tried to get the rally going at the one singles spot with a 6-3, 6-4 win to cut into the deficit.
Luisa Auffarth would continue the push after picking up a 6-2, 6-2 win at three singles as well.
Maria Martinez would close the gap more at the number five position, but that was as close as the Storm would get as losses at the two, four and six positions would fashion a 6-3 final score in favor of the Hilltoppers.
