SE Snap Skid with Break-Ending Win

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern closed out its four-match spring break schedule with a 7-2 victory over Texas-Permian Basin on Sunday in Dallas, Texas.
 
The win snapped a seven-match losing streak and improved the Savage Storm to 3-8 on the season heading into a March 31 matchup with Midwestern State at the Southeastern Tennis Complex at 1 p.m.
 
Versus UTPB, the Storm bounced back from a loss at the one doubles positon and saw the duo of Alexsandra Reljic and Maria Martinez even the score with an 8-6 win at the two position and followed with a 9-8 win by Diana Budnick and Jovana Parlic at the three position.
 
Reljic continued her winning ways at the one singles spot with a 6-3, 7-5 win top open up a 3-1 lead.
 
Luisa Auffarth followed suit at the two spot and won 6-1, 6-2 for a 4-1 lead.
 
Martinez clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the number three spot.
 
After dropping the four position, Nina Sergeev followed with a 6-4, 6-0 win at number five and Budnick finished out the 7-2 match victory with a 6-2, 6-2 win at the six position.
 
On its spring break trip through Florida, SE dropped decisions to No. 48 Palm Beach Atlantic, No. 32 Flagler, and No. 19 Rollins.
 
In the week opener at PBA, Reljic and Martinez picked up the lone doubles with, taking the number two spot 8-2.
 
In singles play Auffarth would look to kickstart a rally at the three position with a 7-6, 6-0 win to make the score 4-2.
 
Martinez followed that up with a 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 win at the four position to close it to 4-3, but that was as close as it would get in a 6-3 loss.
 
Auffarth was the only player to break through with a win against Flagler, picking up a 6-0, 6-2 victory at the three position in an 8-1 loss.
 
It was Reljic in the contest against Rollins who picked up the team's lone point, taking the one singles spot 7-5, 6-3 in another 8-1 defeat.
