Box Score 2 SEARCY, Ark. – Southeastern brought the tying run to the plate in the top of the final inning of both contests, but was unable to take advantage either time with the Savage Storm dropping the opener 5-3 and the nightcap 4-1 against Harding on Saturday afternoon in Searcy, Ark.

The losses drop the Savage Storm to 15-19 overall on the year and 10-11 in Great American Conference play.

In the opener,
Brett Akins,
Jett Swigart, and
Cade Clay each logged two hits, while
Bryce Deatherage,
Austin Ferguson, and
Easton Elliott added one hit.

Ferguson, Akins, and Swigart each drove in a run.
Greg Hubbell got the start and took the loss after tossing 7.0 innings and allowing five runs on 11 hits with one strikeout.

Jake Patterson tossed an inning in relief and recorded three K's.

In the opener, HU jumped to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but the Storm answered with a Swigart double to score
Brett Akins to close the deficit to 3-1 midway through the second inning.

The Bisons would add a run in the bottom of the second and neither team would get on the board until the seventh when Harding added another run to stretch its lead to 5-1 after seven innings.

Ferguson would drive in a run in the top of the eighth on a sac fly which was followed by an RBI single by Akins to close the gap to 5-3 midway through the eighth inning, but that was as close as they would get.

In the finale, SE opened scoring with an RBI single by
Caleb Dubler in the top of the third to score
Travis Spinney and take a 1-0 lead.

The Bisons answered with a three-run fifth and tacked on another run in the sixth to open up a 4-1 lead.

Southeastern threatened in the top of the seventh, loading the bases with two outs, but were unable to bring in a run, falling 4-1.

Spinney and Dubler each posted a pair of hits, with Dubler driving in the lone RBI.

Bryce Deatherage got the start and took the loss after allowing three runs on six hits with six strikeouts.

Patterson followed with one-third of an inning and allowed a run on a hit before handing to
Hayden Grimes who tossed the final two-thirds without allowing a hit.
