Box Score 2 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern dropped a one-run contest, 2-1, in Sunday's opener at Arkansas Tech before closing out the series with a 6-0 loss in Russellville, Ark.
The losses drop the Savage Storm to 26-17 overall on the year and 20-10 in Great American Conference play.
In the opener,
Elexis Watson,
Destiny Riddle,
Keeshia Thompson, and
Mykaela Wallace each picked up a hit, with Thompson driving in the lone run.
Riddle got the start in the circle and tossed a complete 6.0 innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on eight hits with one strikeout to take the loss.
A Thompson first-inning RBI single to center would score
Symphoni Shomo for a 1-0 lead.
ATU would knot the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the second and take a 2-1 lead with another one in the fifth which would fashion the final score.
In the second contest, the Golden Suns put up a run in the second to open scoring and added four more in the fifth and another in the sixth to take a 6-0 lead into the final inning and it would hold to be the final.
Thompson picked up the lone SE hit on offense.
Kelsey Meeks got the start in the circle and took the loss after allowing five runs, four earned, on right hits in 4.2 innings pitched.
Emily Cudd tossed the final 1.1 innings and allowed a run on two hits.
