DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern opened the 2019 tennis season in near freezing conditions and found it tough to get the momentum heated up in a 4-3 loss to Arkansas-Fort Smith on Saturday afternoon at the Southeastern Tennis complex.

The Savage Storm open the season 0-1, and will be back in action March 9 when it travels to San Antonio, Texas, to take on St. Mary's.

SE opened strong with a 2-1 win in doubles as the duo of Chiara berg and
Sara Dinovic picked up a 6-4 win at the two position.

That was followed by a 6-3 win at number three by
Nina Sergeev and Elizabeth Tregubova to win the point.

Berg would carry her momentum into singles play and down Bianca Koen in the one position by a score of 7-5, 6-1 to make the lead 2-0.

Unfortunately, UAFS would sweep two-through-five positions to clinch the match before
Diana Budnik picked up an 8-5 win in the six spot to fashion he final of 4-3.
