SE Set for Tuesday Home Opener

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern baseball is set to open the home portion of its schedule when it hosts Northwest Missouri State at 1 p.m. on Feb. 5 for the first of six-straight home games at The Ballpark in Durant.
 
The Savage Storm come into the mid-week matchup with a 1-2 record after opening the season at the Edmond First Pitch Classic.
 
SE collected a 3-2 win in game two over Emporia State but dropped matchups to Central Oklahoma and Pittsburg State.
 
The Storm hosts NWMSU on Tuesday before bringing Washburn to town for a four-game set Feb. 8-10 and will finish the home stand Feb. 12, making its first nine games against MIAA competition.
 
The SE offense is paced by Easton Elliott's .333 average, while Joseph Cerda has a team-best three RBI.
 
Collin Jameson collected the team's win on the hill after tossing a scoreless 10th inning in an extra inning win over Emporia State, while Mason Whitmarsh has the best starting line with a 1.29 ERA over seven innings pitched with eight strikeouts.
 
The Bearcats are 0-3 to start the year after a three-game sweep at the hands of Arkansas-Ft. Smith.
 
Jay Hrdlicka leads the NWMSU offense with a .462 average, while Alixon Herrera has a team best six RBI and a home run.
 
The Bearcat pitching staff carries a combined 7.77 ERA over three games and has combined for 23 strikeouts.
