Women's Tennis Tripped Up in Season Finale

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern closed out the regular season portion of the 2019 season with a pair of home losses, first falling 5-2 to Southwest Baptist before dropping a 4-0 decision to Washburn in the season finale at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
 
The loss drops the Savage Storm to 2-10 overall on the year with its next action slated for April 25 at 2 p.m. when is opens Great American Conference Tournament play as the five seed against fourth seeded Arkansas Tech.
 
In the opening match of the weekend, SE dropped the doubles point to fall behind 1-0 early.
 
A 6-4, 2-6, 10-4 win at number five by Elizaveta Tregubova would get SE on the board and a win at the six position by Nina Sergeev would give the Storm a second point, but the squad would ultimately drop the match 5-2.
 
In the finale, doubles again proved problematic as the Storm fell behind 1-0.
 
Tregubova would again challenge at number five but her match would go unfinished, as would Chiara Berg's matchup in the top spot as Washurn would take two-through-four singles to secure a 4-0 decision.
