Ferguson, Nitson Earn GAC Weekly Awards

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern's Austin Ferguson and Cody Nitson have been named Great American Conference Co-Player of the Week and Co-Pitcher of the week, respectively, following their performances in a weekend sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma State.
 
Ferguson hit .563 on the week which started with a loss to Central Oklahoma before the Savage Storm took all three games in a road series from NWOSU to keep its postseason hopes alive.  He would collect nine hits on the weekend, three of the home runs and two of those coming in game two alone.
 
He finished the weekend with six RBI and six runs scored and added two doubles to make five of his nine hits go for extra bases while slugging 1.250 over the last four games.
 
Nitson got the start in the weekend series opener and picked up his fifth win of the year after tossing a complete nine innings and allowing a run on eight hits with seven strikeouts while opponents hit just .235.
 
Southeastern will next square off with Arkansas-Fort Smith in a Tuesday double-header for the home finale before heading into the regular season finale series against East Central in Ada, Okla.
