DURANT, Okla. – Fourth-seeded Southeastern will open play in the 2019 Great American Conference Tournament when it faces off with rival East Central at 4 p.m. on May 3 in Bentonville, Ark., at the Tiger Athletic Complex.

The 2019 tournament will see a change as with the impending threat of bad weather, the event was shortened to a single-elimination tournament.

A win for the Savage storm on Friday would set up a 3:30 p.m. contest on Saturday afternoon versus the winner between top-seeded Southern Arkansas and No. 8 seed Ouachita Baptist. A win on Saturday would earn a berth in the Championship game on Sunday, May 5, at 12:30 p.m.

SE finished the regular season 27-27 overall and 25-19 in GAC play, including a 2-2 split in the season series against the Tigers.

Symphoni Shomo paces the offense with a .355 record and has been lighting on the base paths over the final stretch, lifting her league-best stolen bases total to 41.

Elexis Watson's .353 mark, while Watson is leading the team in doubles with 17, home runs with 11, and RBI with 36.

Katie McCullar and
Mykaela Wallace are each also averaging over .300 for the year, while
Keeshia Thompson is second on the team in RBI with 33.

McCUllar has also picked up a team high 16 wins and three saves in the circle with 45 appearances, tossing 144.1 innings on the year with 88 strikeouts.

ECU is paced by Tarah Hilton and Sable Hankins who are both hitting .408 on the season, while Hankins leads the club with 15 homers and 49 RBI.

Jacey Henry leads the Tiger pitching staff with 12 wins and 71 strikeouts, while Paige Leschber's 3.29 ERA is the best mark on the team.
