Storm Host Bison in GAC Opener

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will open Great American Conference play Feb. 15-16 when it welcomes Oklahoma Baptist to Mike Metheny Field for a three-game series beginning at 2 p.m. on Feb. 15.
 
The teams will play the final two games of the series on Sunday Feb. 16 in a noon double-header.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with a 5-3 record on the season and are coming off a 3-1 weekend series victory over Northeastern State.
 
Colton Buckner picked up GAC Player of the Week honors following his performance last week and leads the SE offense with a .571 average with 12 hits, including three doubles, two home runs and five RBI while drawing 10 walks on the season and boasting a .710 on-base percentage.
 
Grant Bruce, Chris Eusay, and Niko Piazza are each hitting better than .300 on the year, with Eusay posting a team-best six RBI.
 
Jacob Potter and Davis Jenks lead the Storm pitching staff with matching 2-0 records, while Potter has a 0.69 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 13.0 innings and Jenks has a 1.38 ERA with 11 K's in 13.0 innings of work.
 
KC Bryan has picked up a pair of saves in two appearances, allowing one hit and striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched.
 
The Bisons come to town with a 4-2 record on the season and are led offensively by Kaimana Bartolome who has a .444 average with two home runs and 11 RBI, while two others are hitting over .400.
 
Raul Rizo leads the OBU pitching staff with a 2-0 record and an 0.87 ERA with eight strikeouts in 10.1 innings pitched.
