Baseball Set for Season's First Road Trip

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will take to the road for the first time this season when it jumps back into Great American Conference play with a three-game series against Southwestern Oklahoma State Feb. 21-22 in Weatherford, Okla.
 
Games one and two are slated for a noon double-header on Feb. 21, with a single game to finish the series set for noon on Feb. 22.
 
SE comes into the weekend with a 6-6 record overall on the season and is looking for its first conference win after opening the year 0-3.
 
The Savage Storm did get back in the win column with a dominant 16-3 midweek victory over East Central in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday.
 
Colton Buckner paces the SE offense with a .500 average, while nine of hits 18 hits have gone for extra bases including six doubles and three home runs.
 
Anthony Cassos, Niko Piazza, Chris Eusay, and Grant Bruce all hit better than .300 while SE as a team has lifted its team average to .282.

Buckner, Piazza, and Richard Ware each have three homers on the season, with Ware leading the team in RBI with 11.
 
Jacob Potter and Davis Jenks pace the Storm starting pitchers with matching 2-1 records, while Potter carries a 2.45 ERA and Jenks is right behind at 2.65.
 
KC Bryan has picked up a pair of saves out of the SE bullpen, while Jason Porter leads the reliever with a 0.00 ERA in four appearances with a 1-0 record.
 
The Bulldogs head into the weekend at 5-2 on the year and currently leads the conference in hitting with a team batting average of .365 and pitching with a team ERA of 2.41 through 56.0 innings of work.
 
SWOSU is one of three teams in the conference to win their opening league series 2-1 after taking two runaway wins at East Central last weekend while also dropping a 2-1 contest in the seven-inning game.
