DURANT, Okla. – For the second-straight weekend Southeastern will take to the road, this time heading to Edmond, Okla., for the UCO Invitational where it will face Southwest Baptist at noon on Feb. 7, followed by a 4 p.m. matchup with Central Oklahoma. Play for the Savage Storm will conclude on Feb. 8 with a 4 p.m. contest with Missouri Southern State followed by a 6 p.m. meeting with Colorado Mines.

SE heads into the weekend with a 2-2 record on the season after splitting both day at the Arkansas Tech Invitational to open the season.

Ron Faubion heads into the weekend looking for career win number 900 as he currently has a record of 899-430.

Katie McCullar opened the season with a pair of wins in the circle on her way to earning Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week honors. In doing so she finished 2-0 with a 0.53 ERA over three appearances, two of them starts, while tossing 13.1 innings and striking out 10.

Symphoni Shomo came out of the opening weekend leading the offense with a .467 average along with three RBI, four runs scored, and four stolen bases.

Kady Fryrear and
Kamarie Wallace each followed Shomo in hitting over .400, with Fryrear finishing the opening weekend at .444 while Wallace hit .429.

Karsyn Brigance hit .385 on the weekend and collected four RBI along with a triple and a double, while Kyian Monahwee collected four RBI as well.

SBU will be opening the season on Friday as they are coming off an 8-47 season in 2019, but will be transitioning from MIAA play to the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Returning for the Bearcats on the mound will be seniors Maddie Massanelli and Alexis Dock. Massanelli pitched 146.2 innings in 2019, striking out 91 in the process. Â Offensively Megan Schellert returns after leading the team with a .292 average.

UCO comes into the weekend with a 1-5 record overall on the season after opening the season at the ATU Invitational.

Hazel Puempel leads a trio of .300 hitters with a .389 average, and shares the team lead in RBI with Halley Randolph with three. In the circle, Corrina Rivers opened with a 1-3 record but maintains a 0.93 ERA and struck out seven on opening weekend in four appearances.

MSSU will also be opening the 2020 season on Friday, and make the trip picked ninth in the MIAA preseason softball coaches' poll following a season that saw the Lions finish 19-25 overall and 10-16 in the MIAA.

The team returns a total of five starters from last year's team including two honorable mention MIAA players in senior second baseman Makaila Leonhart and sophomore shortstop Josie Tofpi.

CSM comes to Oklahoma with a 1-1 record after splitting a double-header with Sioux Falls on Sunday and entered the season picked fifth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason poll.

The Orediggers took advantage of Sydney Marchando's nine-strikeout effort to pick up its win, while for the afternoon, Marchando matched her career high for K's while Megan Dickson drove in two runs to lead Mines at the plate as they rode a six-run first inning to victory.
