DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern women's tennis celebrated its five seniors in style by picking up a 5-2 victory over Oklahoma Baptist to open Great American Conference play on Thursday afternoon at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

The win is the fourth in-a-row for the Savage Storm and lifts their record to 8-5 overall on the season and 1-0 in conference play.

Southeastern celebrated five seniors who are completing their final season of competition with the Storm in
Nicole Maldonado,
India Shiaelis,
Diana Budnik,
Rachel Routledge, and
Nina Sergeev.

SE took care of business in the doubles point, with
Vanessa Nitu and
Elizaveta Tregubova cruising to a 6-0 win at number three.

Shiaelis and
Georgia Hosking followed up and clinched the point with a 6-1 win at number two.

The Storm ensured a doubles sweep with
Zulay Castaneda and
Vanessa Cozamanis holding on for a 7-6 win at number one.

Unfortunately, Castaneda and Nitu suffered losses at the toop two spots, but the Storm came roaring back at three singles where Tregubova picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win to even the match at 2-2.

SE would not look back as the momentum carried into a 6-2, 7-6 win at number four by Shiaelis to take the lead.

Hosking would clinch the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win at number five before Cozamanis would set the final score at 5-2 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number six.
