Storm Set to Host MSU in Midweek Doubleheader

DURANT, Okla. – Coming off a 6-1 week that included a series victory over No. 9 Southern Arkansas, Southeastern will once again jump out of league play, this time to host Midwestern State on March 30 for a 2 p.m. doubleheader at the Southeastern Softball Field.
 
The Savage Storm swept four-straight out of conference contests last week, all on the road, and closed out the run with a 2-1 series win over SAU to push its season record to 19-3.
 
The SE offense is paced by a pair of .400 hitters, with Peyton Streetman leading that group with a .466 average with two doubles and 13 RBI, while Kady Fryrear is next up at .408 with six doubles, four homers, and a team-best 17 RBI.
 
Cheyenne Mahy, Bailey Beard, Kyia Monahwee, Kamarie Wallace, and Augusta Duty are all averaging .300 or better.
 
In the circle, Cheyenne Mahy and Amberlyn Walsworth have combined to post a 17-2 record on the season, with Mahy sitting at 8-1 with a save while Walsworth is 9-1 with a save as well.
 
Walsworth has gotten the bulk of the innings, tossing five complete games and carrying a 2.36 ERA while striking out 68 and holding opponents to a .238 average.
 
Mahy has tossed 42.2 innings with three complete games and has fanned 25 while holding opposing hitters to a .233 average.
 
MSU enters the midweek matchup with a 12-16 record on the season and are coming off a doubleheader split with Cameron.
 
When the teams met in Wichita Falls, Texas, on March 10, Southeastern pulled out a 3-1 win in the opener before posting a 9-1 run-rule win in the nightcap.
 
Ashley Turner leads a foursome of .300 hitters with a .393 average with a team best four home runs.  Jacey Henry is the clubs topo RBI producer with 19 on the year.
 
Kaitlyn Turner leads the way in the circle with a 3.72 ERA and 51 strikeouts, while Henry has the team lead in wins with a 5-4 record.
