Southeastern Set to Host Bison in GAC Series

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern softball jumps back into Great American Conference play April 1-2 when it hosts Oklahoma Baptist for a three-game series at the Southeastern Softball Field. Game one is slated for April 1 at 3 p.m., while the final two games are set for an April 2 doubleheader at 1 p.m.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with a 21-3 record on the season with an 11-2 record in Great American Conference play, holding onto first place in the conference standings.
 
Overall SE is riding a four-game winning streak after a midweek sweep of Midwestern State on Tuesday, and has won 11 of its last 12 conference games.
 
Southeastern picked up a pair of walk-off wins versus MSU, with Peyton Streetman singling home the winning run in the eighth inning of in game one to win 5-4, while Kyia Monahwee homered in the bottom of the seventh in game two for the 1-0 win.
 
Streetman has been the team's leading hitter on the season with a .446 average, while Kady Fryrear is next in line with a .385 average to go with a team-leading 17 RBI.
 
Cheyenne Mahy is hitting .365 and leads the team in homers with six, while Fryrear and Monahwee have four apiece.
 
Mahy leads the pitching staff with a .134 ERA ande with wins in both games Tuesday improved her record to 10-1 on the season.
 
Amberlyn Walsworth is right behind with a 9-1 mark and a 2.24 ERA while leading the team in strikeouts with 76.
 
The Bison enter the weekend with a 14-10 record overall on the year and a 9-8 record in GAC play fo0llowing a 2-1 series win over Arkansas Tech last weekend.
 
OBU boasts four .300 hitters, led by McKenna Anderson at .383, while Asia Henry leads the team in RBI with 14.
 
Henry and Cheyenne Demaree each have a team-high four home runs.
 
Kayleigh Jones leads the Bison pitching staff with a 10-4 record, a 1.88 ERA, and 94 strikeouts.
