DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern suffered a pair of narrow conference losses to Southern Arkansas and Harding, but bounced back with a weekend-ending victory over Seward County CC at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

The Savage Storm opened the weekend on the road with a 4-3 loss at SAU, and followed with another tight home loss to HU, 5-2.

With the 4-3 win to end the weekend, SE moved to 8-9 overall on the year and 1-2 in MIAA South Division Play.

In its weekend win, SE had to rally after dropping the doubles point, with the No. 20 ranked pair of
Marin Jurkovic and
George Botha picking up the only win in doubles play, 6-4, at number two.

In single play, No. 15
Juan Scoppetta picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win at the one positon to even the match, but Seward would answer with a win at number two.

Gen Naraya righted the ship at number three with a 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 win at number three, but again SCCC would answer by taking the four spot.

SE would put the match away in the final two positions, first with
Diego Orduz earning a 6-4, 6-3 win at number five before
Marcus Del Rosario would complete the 4-3 win with a 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 win at number six.

In the team's first match of the weekend on the road against the Muleriders, SAU would jump to an early lead by taking two and three doubles for the point and the 1-0 advantage.

A loss at one singles would move the deficit to 2-0 before No. 45
Guilherme Dos Santos would get the Storm back on track with an 0-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at number two.

Manuel Pilotto followed suit at number three with a 6-3, 6-7, 6-2 win to even the match at 2-2.

The Muleriders responded with a win sat number four before Botha again tied the match with a 6-4, 7-5 win at number five, but the Storm would fall at number six, dropping the match 4-3.

Versus the Bisons,
Thabo Ncube and Dos Santos partnered to pick up a 6-4 doubles win, but the Storm would drop the doubles point overall.

Scoppetta would take the one position in singles by a 6-3, 6-2 score and Pilotto added a 7-5, 6-4 win at number three.

However, HU would squeak out a three-set win at number set and take a 7-5 second set at number four to hold off a Storm rally.
