Mahy Earns GAC Weekly Honor

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern's Cheyenne Mahy has been named Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week following her shutout efforts in a series sweep of Ouachita Baptist over the weekend.
 
Mahy, a sophomore from Atwater, Calif., was a force it he circle against the Tigers as she posted a 2-0 record in two appearances.
 
She tossed 12.0 shutout innings on the weekend and scattered seven hits while striking out six and holding opposing hitters to a .171 average.
 
Mahy opened the weekend by winning a complete-game shutout in game two of the series.
 
She finished her weekend by tossing 5.0 perfect innings in relief in the series finale, facing the minimum 15 batters and striking out four.
 
Her efforts helped Southeastern sweep OBU and become one of just four teams with 30 wins on the season at this point.
