DURANT, Okla. – No. 3 seed Southeastern is set to open play in the Great American Conference Tournament on May 14 at 6:30 p.m. when it takes on sixth-seeded Ouachita Baptist at 6:30 p.m. in Bentonville, Ark.

With a win in the single-elimination tournament, the Savage Storm would advance to a 3 p.m. game on May 15 against the winner between Harding and Oklahoma Baptist in the semifinals. The conference3 championship game is slated for 7 p.m. on May 15.

Southeastern reaches the postseason for the eighth time in nine GAC tournaments and is 5-2 in its tourney openers over the last seven trips since the formation of the GAC.

The Storm are 16-11 in GAC tournament play overall, including a 3-0 mark in tourney games against Ouachita Baptist, while the team has made a conference-best four appearances in the tournament finals.

SE heads into the tournament with a 34-10 record overall on the year and finished the conference season with a 24-9 mark.

The Storm and OBU squared off in Durant, Okla., in a three-game series back on April 17-18, with SE coming away with a 3-0 sweep, taking game one 4-1 and game two 1-0 before picking up a 3-2 win in eight innings in the finale.

Southeastern will be leaning on its group of all-conference honorees, led on offense by
Peyton Streetman,
Kady Fryrear,
Kyia Monahwee, and
Cheyenne Mahy.

Streetman is hitting .392 with 17 RBI and 27 runs scored, while Fryrear has a .353 average with eight doubles, five homers and 25 RBI.

Monahwee is batting .323 with six long balls and 23 RBI, while Mahy leads the team in homers with 10 while hitting .307 with a team-best 30 RBI.

Amberlyn Walsworth to make up one of the best pitching combinations in the GAC as well.

Mahy carries a 1.76 ERA and a 16-3 record while holding opponents to a .222 average with 65 strikeouts.

Walsworth is 16-5 on the season and has a 2.09 ERA with a league-high 136 strikeouts, while holing opposing hitters to a .229 average.

The Tigers come into the tournament with a 20-17 record overall and an 18-15 mark in GAC play.

The OBU offense features five players hitting better than .300, led by Heather Brown's .375 average, while Jillian Jones has a team-best 25 RBI and Madison Miller has seven home runs.

Nikki Schneider leads the Tiger pitching staff with a 2.26 ERA and an 8-6 record while holding opponents to a .219 average and striking out 40.
