Storm Finish 11th at NSU Classic

MUSKOGEE, Okla. – Jordan Holifield paced Southeastern on its way to an 11^th place finish at the 23^rd Annual NSU Golf Classic which wrapped up on Sept. 21 at Muskogee Golf Club in Muskogee, Okla.
 
The Savage Storm carded a three-day total score of 881 on the par-71, 6,729-yard course, posting a 296 in its first round, followed by a 287 on Monday's second 18-holes before closing out the event with a 298 on Tuesday.
 
SE was three shots behind Missouri Western State in 10^th, while finishing three shots ahead of Winona State in 12^th.
 
Arkansas Tech took home the team title with an 837, followed by Central Missouri at 842 and Harding at 851.
 
Southern Arkansas and Northeastern State rounded out the top five.
 
Henderson State checked in sixth with an 866 for the tourney, followed by Southwestern Oklahoma State, Central Oklahoma, and Washburn.
 
Bemidji State was 13^th behind WSU, while Missouri Southern State, Lindenwood, Sioux Falls, Southern Nazarene, and Northwestern Oklahoma State rounded out the 18-team field.
 
Holifield played himself into a tie for 21^st individually, opening with a 72 on Monday before finishing the day with a 72 and carding a final round 73 to finish with a three-over-par 216 for the event.
 
Trent Zorgdrager was next in line with a six-over total score of 219 to finish tied for 36^th after rounds of 77, 69, and 73.
 
Justice Hartman carded a pair of 74's on Monday and added a 76 on Tuesday to finish the 54-hole tournament with a 224 which was tied for 60^th.
 
Dalton McGinnis was one shot behind Hartman at 12-over for the event, posting scores of 74, 72, and 79 for a three-round total of 225.
 
Jesse Rouse rounded out the Storm golfers with back-to-back rounds of 77 on Monday before posting a 76 on Tuesday to finish with a 230 in a tie for 83^rd place.
 
Southeastern will be back in action on Sept. 27-28 when it travels to the MSSU Fall Invitational at Shangri-La CC in Monkey Island, Okla.
