BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – At the end of one round of play at the GAC Tournament, the Southeastern men's golf team is tied for seventh at 17-over 305.
Arkansas Tech leads the field of play after 18 holes of play at even-par 288. Northwestern Oklahoma State sits second at 9-over 297, while Southwestern Oklahoma State shot 11-over 299 and is third. No. 19 Harding and Southern Arkansas are tied for fourth at 12-over 300 to round out the top five.
Jesse Tandoy paced the Storm lineup on day one at the GAC Tournament, firing a 3-over 75. Tandoy shot 2-over 38 on the back nine and followed with 1-over 37, where he scattered two birdies and would end the day with a three.
Nicholas Martin followed one stroke back of Tandoy with a 4-over 76 after shooting 2-over par on both the front and back nine, and would record a single birdie on hole nine.
Reid Sharp and
Tristun Burnham both turned in a 5-over 77 in round one and combined for six birdies. Sharp began his day with a birdie on hole 10 and shot 2-over 38 on the back nine and later shot 3-over 39 on the front half. Burnham scattered two birdies across the back nine to begin his round and later added a third on hole nine, and was one of four players for SE to birdie the ninth hole on the Par 72 course.
Austin Skierski rounded out the SE five-bag with 6-over 79 and turned in a 4-over 40 on the back nine before completing the front nine with a 2-over 38.
Caleb Castor competed as an individual for Southeastern and carded a 7-over 79 and recorded a lone birdie on hole 17. Southeastern gets round two started at the Par 72 Forest Ridge Golf Course on Monday.
