Baseball Hosts CCU In Four-Game Series

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern heads into the weekend looking to maintain its momentum when it welcomes Colorado Christian for a four-game series Feb. 11-12 at Mike Metheny Field.
 
SE will host a double-header beginning at noon on Feb. 11 and then repeat the schedule with a second twinbill at noon on Feb. 12.
 
The Savage Storm swept East Central to open the year before winning a see-saw battle over Northeastern State on Tuesday to open the year 4-0, matching its best start to a season since the 2012 season.
 
The Southeastern offense got moving early and often as the team combined to hit .351 with 13 home runs across four games.
 
Cameron French led that group on his way to a GAC Player of the Week honors, hitting .727 with a double, a triple, two homers, and six RBI.
 
Richard Ware added a .500 weekend with three home runs and eight RBI, while six other players are hitting better than .300 to open the season.
 
The Storm pitching staff is off to a combined 4-0 start with a save and a 3.38 ERA while striking out 29.
 
Four pitchers have made at least one appearance without allowing a run, while Dylan Turner has posted a pair of outings with a win and a 1.80 ERA across five innings of work.
 
This weekend will be the season-opener for CCU who posted a 13-28 record a season ago and head into the 2022 season picked to finish seventh in the nine-team Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
