DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern is set to return to another busy weekend schedule as it prepares for six games over three days for the second-straight weekend at the Alvy Early Classic hosted by Arkansas-Monticello in Bentonville, Ark., Feb. 11-13.

The Savage Storm opens its weekend with former rival Northeastern State on Feb. 11 at 11 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. face off with Northwest Missouri State.

On Feb. 12 SE will square off against Emporia State at 11 a.m. and follow up with Wayne State at 1 p.m., before closing out the weekend on Feb. 13 with William Jewell at 11 a.m. and Maryville at 1 p.m.

Southeastern opened the season 2-4 in a stacked field at its opening event in Houston, Texas, facing off against four teams who were nationally ranked or receiving votes in the poll.

Cheyenne Mahy put together a .450 hitting weekend to open the year, finishing with four doubled and three RBI, while
Peyton Streetman hit .381 and
Kamryn Rackley finished the weekend at .368.

Amberlyn Walsworth opened the season 1-2 in the circle but was bitten by unearned runs while carrying a 2.21 ERA and striking out 16 across four starts.

NSU comes into the weekend with a 3-1 record after picking up wins over Henderson State, UAM, and Ouachita Baptist.

Addy Wolf led the team on offense out of the gate and hit.700 for the weekend while Gail Young posted a 2-0 record without allowing a run and striking out 15 across two starts.

NWMSU enters the weekend coming off an 0-5 start to the year as they traveled north on the opening weekend to Mankato, Minn., and faced four different Northern Sun schools.

Jacee Winn and Madison Friest led the team with .250 averages on offense, while Christina Campbell came out of the weekend 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA.

ESU opened its season with a 3-2 record at the same event as NSU, with all three wins also coming against GAC schools.

The Hornets saw Brittanie Shepherd hit .750 over the weekend with six RBI to pace the offense, while Gracie Rabe went 1-0 without allowing an earned run across two appearances and one start.

Wayne State will be opening its 2022 season this weekend and are coming off a 7-31 season in 2021 and were picked to finish 15
th in the NSIC.

William Jewell will also be making its 2022 debut this weekend after going 13-27 in 2021 and entering this season picked to finish 11
th in the GLVC.

Maryville was originally scheduled to open its season this past weekend but saw those games canceled and will not kick off its 2022 schedule in Bentonville, Ark., after posting a 21-16 record last season and heading into the year picked third in the GLVC.
