Baseball Opens GAC Play with Ranked ATU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will make its first leap into Great American Conference play when it welcomes No. 14 Arkansas Tech to Mike Metheny Field for a three-game series beginning Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. and followed by a Feb. 19 doubleheader beginning at noon.
 
The Savage Storm head into the weekend with a 7-2 record to open the season, including a 5-1 mark at home.
 
SE took three of four in its last weekend series and won three straight before dropping a road matchup this past Tuesday.
 
Cameron French leads the way on offense with a .467 average, including two doubles, a triple and three homers with 11 RBI.
 
Reid Rice is right behind with a .417 average with a triple, three homers, and 10 RBI.
 
Richard Ware paces the club in home runs with four as well as RBI with 13.
 
The Storm pitching staff is led by Logan Teske who is 1-0 in two starts with a 0.00 ERA, while Connor Priest and Dylan Turner each have a pair of wins.
 
Kenneth Klier has picked up a pair of saves in relief, while Jackson Sioson has added one.
 
The Wonder Boys come to town with a 4-1 record, dropping its last outing versus St. Mary's after a 4-0 start to the season.
 
ATU is paced on offense by Yadier Medina with a .500 average, while Ty Van Meter has a team high two home runs and five RBI.
 
Patrick Miner leads the Wonder Boys pitching staff with a 2-0 record and a 1.80 ERA with 13 strikeouts, while Van Meter has a pair of saves.
