Softball Set for Regional Invite

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern heads into its final non-conference classic weekend set for four games over two days in the Edmond Regional Festival Feb. 18-19 across sites in Edmond, Okla., and Piedmont, Okla.
 
The Savage Storm open the weekend with a 12:45 p.m. matchup with No. 14 Rogers State in Edmond, Okla., before heading to Piedmont, Okla., that evening to take on Missouri Southern State at 5:15 p.m.
 
On Feb. 19 SE will open at 10:30 a.m. against Cameron back in Edmond, Okla., before once-again making the trip over to Piedmont to face Chadron State at 3 p.m.
 
Southeastern comes into the event riding a five-game winning streak which lifted the team to 7-4 on the year.
 
Cheyenne Mahy leads the Storm offense with a .438 average, six doubles, a homer and nine RBI.
 
Gracie Ore, Kamryn Rackley, Peyton Streetman, and Marilyn Alvarado are each hitting .333 or better, while Kamarie Wallace has added two home runs and eight RBI.
 
Mahy and Amberlyn Walsworth have both gotten off to solid starts in the circle as well.
 
Walsworth has put together a 4-2 record with a 1.27 ERA in six starts across eight appearances, combining on a pair of shutouts and recording a save with 26 strikeouts.
 
Mahy is 3-2 on the season with a 3.64 ERA and a save while also combining on two shutouts and striking out 26.
 
RSU will be the fourth nationally-ranked opponent the Storm have faced this season as they enter the weekend with a 10-1 record.
 
The Hillcats are led offensively by Elexis Watson who is hitting .423, while Abbey Rogers has a team-high nine RBI.
 
Andrea Morales leads the pitching staff with a 6-0 record across six starts with a 1.14 ERA and 55 strikeouts.
 
MSSU enters play with a 2-3 record overall on the season.
 
The Lions are led on offense by Leighton Withers with a .471 average and 10 RBI, while Bailey Lacy leads the pitching staff with a 1-2 record with a 3.52 ERA.
 
CU carries a 9-2 record into the weekend, having lost its last two matchups after starting the season 9-0.
 
The Aggies are led by Breley Webb who carries a .500 average, while Kylie French has three homers and 11 RBI.
 
In the circle, CU is paced by Josie Swafford with a 4-1 record and a 2.59 ERA with 21 strikeouts.
 
CSU heads into the weekend with an 0-5 record.
 
The Eagles are led by Lauren Zimmerman's .385 average, while Jessie Henchenski has a team-high three RBI.
 
Gabby Russell leads the pitching staff with a 6.75 ERA.
