DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern softball has won five of its last six Great American Conference games and will aim to build on that momentum when it makes its longest in-state trip of the season to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State in a three-game series March 12-13 in Alva, Okla.
 
Game one of the series is slated for a 4 p.m. start on March 12, with the final two games set for an 11 a.m. doubleheader on March 13.
 
The Savage Storm have opened the season with a 14-11 record overall and are 5-3 in GAC play which enters the weekend tied for second in the conference standings.
 
SE is coming off a doubleheader sweep of East Central, including a 4-0 win that saw 
Cheyenne Mahy toss the first perfect game since the 2003 season.
 
Mahy has led the pitching staff on the season with an 8-4 record with a 3.33 ERA, while 
Amberlyn Walsworth is right on her heels with a 3.39 ERA and a team-best 74 strikeouts.
 
Offensively, 
Peyton Streetman leads the Storm with a .357 average that includes and double and two triples with nine RBI and a team-leading 20 runs scored.
 
Mahy is next in line on offense with a .324 average, while collecting a team-best nine doubles and driving in 17 runs.
 
Kamarie Wallace leads the way in RBI with 19 and home runs with three.
 
NWOSU enters the weekend with a 9-8 record overall and a 3-5 mark in conference play, but are coming off a sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State in a midweek twinbill.
 
Lindsey McElroy paces the offense with a .442 average, while Abby DeTar has a team-best 17 RBI with Jayden Solberg connecting on five home runs.
 
Hannah Howell has put together a 6-1 record in the circle with a 4.59 ERA across nine starts with 31 strikeouts, all of which lead the team.
