SE Softball Hits the Road to Face UAM

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern sets out looking to continue its five-game conference winning streak when it makes the trek to Monticello, Ark., for a three-game series against Arkansas-Monticello, with game one set for a 3 p.m. start on March 18, with the final two games slated for a March 19 doubleheader beginning at noon.
 
The Savage Storm roll into the contest with a 17-13 record overall and an 8-3 mark in Great American Conference play, having won its last five conference matchup ups and seven of its last eight, propelling SE into a tie for the conference lead.
 
Peyton Streetman continues to lead the Storm offense with a .361 average, scoring a team-best 28 runs, while Alexis Lambert and Cheyenne Mahy each have averages north of .340.
 
Kamarie Wallace leads the team with four home runs, with her 25 RBI also leading the way while Mahy and Kady Fryrear each have 20-or-more runs driven in.
 
Amberlyn Walsworth pushed her win total to nine and carries a 3.77 ERA with two saves while striking out 92.
 
Mahy on the other hand is right behind with eight wins, with a 4.18 ERA as well as having two saves with 71 total strikeouts.
 
The Cotton Blossoms enter the weekend in a three-way tie for third in the league with a 7-4 record in GAC play and a 12-14 mark overall on the year.
 
Madison Morrisey leads the UAM offense with a .394 average while Grace Neal provides the power with five home runs and 22 RBI.
 
Jamie Franks leads the Blossoms in wins with six on the year while Averie Guthrie's 3.60 ERA paces the club in that category.  Sam Stephens is the team's leader in strikeouts with 20.
