SE Set for Key Conference Matchup at HSU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern sets out on its final road trip of the regular season looking to not only secure a berth in the conference tournament, but also make a run at second place in the league standings when it takes on Henderson State in a three-game series April 22-23 in Arkadelphia, Ark. Game one of the series is set for 6 p.m. on April 22, with the final two games of the series slated for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on April 23.
 
The Savage Storm enter the weekend with a 28-15 record on the season and a 17-10 mark in Great American conference play, sitting in third place, just one game behind the Reddies with six games to play on the year.
 
Cameron French paces the Storm offense with a .412 with 13 doubles and three triples while driving in 39 runs.
 
Reid Rice is next in line with a .373 average and a team-best 18 home runs and 51 RBI.
 
Matt Miles, Seth Morrow, Blake McQuain, and Bryce McDermott are each hitting over .300, while Morrow and Ware join Rice and French with more than 30 RBI.
 
Dylan Turner leads the SE pitching staff among starters with a 4.98 ERA and a 4-3 record with 40 strikeouts.
 
Cole Canuteson has a team-high five wins with a 5-1 record and a pair of complete games while also posting a team-leading 56 strikeouts.
 
HSU comes into the series with a 30-12 record on the season and an 18-9 mark in league play.
 
Grayson Stevens leads the offense for the Reddies with 40 RBI, while David Vilches has a team-best 14 home runs.
 
Spencer Taack leads the team on the mound with a 7-1 record, with Cade Tucker posting 57 strikeouts.
