Savage Storm Head West to Take On SWOSU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will set out looking improve its position in the Great American Conference standings when it travels to Southwestern Oklahoma State3 for a three-game series April 8-9 in Weatherford, Okla. Game one of the series is set for a 2 p.m. start on Friday, with the final two games of the series slated for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.
 
The Savage Storm come into the contest at 24-11 overall on the season and caught up in a three-way tie for second place in the conference standings at 13-8.
 
SE has five players hitting better than .300, with Blake McQuain leading the way in average at .390, while Reid Rice is hitting .358 with team-best marks of 17 home runs and 43 RBI.
 
In addition to those two, Cameron French is hitting .352 with 10 doubles and 23 RBI, while Seth Morrow has nine doubles, five homers and 32 RBI.
 
Since joining the lineup on a regular basis Luke Lockhert has lifted his average to .333 and he has swiped five bases.
 
The Storm pitching staff is led by Dylan Turner and Cole Canuteson who each have three wins as weekend starters, while Connor Priest and Logan Teske each have four wins across starts and relief outings.
 
Canuteson leads the team with 39 strikeouts, while Turner and Kenneth Klier have each fanned more than 30.
 
Jackson Sioson leads the team with seven saves and has also picked up a pair of wins across 18 total appearances.
 
SWOSU comes into the contest at 16-17 overall on the season and 10-11 in GAC play in a tie for eighth in the league standings.
 
Marc Gonzales leads the Bulldogs with a .356 average, while Enzo Bonventre leads the team with nine homers and 30 RBI.
 
Grant Ewy leads the pitching staff with a 5-2 record and a 4.97 ERA, while Nate Postlewhait has four wins and a team-leading 53 strikeouts.
