DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will open its 2022 postseason on May 5 when it heads to the Great American Conference Tournament as the No. 6 seed set to face third-seeded Harding at 6:30 p.m. in Bentonville, Ark.

The Savage Storm closed out the regular season with a 30-24 record overall and a 19-14 mark in conference play, including winning seven of their last nine games.

The tournament is single elimination, and with a win on Thursday night, the Storm would advance to a Friday contest at 1:30 p.m. against the winner between Southern Arkansas and Ouachita Baptist. Two wins would advance them to Saturday's final which is set for 12:30 p.m.

SE is paced by
Cheyenne Mahy who is hitting a team-best .341 with 15 doubles, five homers, and 34 RBI.

Peyton Streetman and
Kamarie Wallace are also hitting better than .300, with Streetman scoring a team-leading 37 runs, while Wallace is matching Mahy's high water mark with 34 RBI.

The Storm pitching staff has picked up over the final weeks of the season as well, combining to allow more than three runs in a game just three times over the last 16 games, with two of those three games still going as SE wins.

Amberlyn Walsworth leads the way with a 3.13 ERA with a 15-15 record overall on the season that includes a trio of shutouts with 192 strikeouts, with a 5.8-to-1 K-to-walk ratio.

Mahy carries a 15-9 record overall in the circle and is only slightly behind Walsworth in ERA at 3.22 with two no hitters, one of them a perfect game, alongside 139 strikeouts.

HU comes into the weekend with a 37-17 record overall and a 23-10 mark in league play.

The Bisons are paced on offense by Leigha Harris with a .396 average and 50 RBI while Nicole Shano has a team-high 15 home runs.

Lily Tanksi leads the pitching staff with a 15-7 record with a 3.40 ERA and 96 strikeouts.
