EDMOND, Okla. – All five Southeastern players won their opening-round singles matchups, with
Marin Jurkovic turning in a quarterfinal run, while
Thabo Ncube and
Stipan Madzar stormed back to win the doubles consolation bracket at the ITA Central Regionals in Edmond, Okla.

Jurkovic opened his singles tournament with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Daniel Harkin and followed it with a round of 32 victory over Henry Dornbusch in a hardfought 7-5, 4-6, 10-3 win.

He followed that up with another tiebreaker set win by downing Filippo Piranamonte 6-1, 6-7, 10-7 to reach the quarterfinals where he would see his run come to an end versus 9-16 seeded Phil Exner, 6-1, 6-4.

Juan Gonzalez came in seeded 9-16 and would survive a tough first-round matchup with a 5-7, 6-4, 10-8 win over Simon Birgerson.

He would take his round of 32 opponent Gwendel Mazuay in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0, before seeing his run end in the round of 16 to eventual tourney winner Teodor Zlater, 6-2, 6-3.

Stipan Madzar also entered with a 9-16 seed and would run a similar path to Gonzalez, beginning with a 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 win over Ali Mounir.

He would follow up with a 6-3, 6-7, 10-5 win over Lluc Camps before falling to eventual finalist and number three seed Dani Ortiz, 6-2, 6-1.

Thabo Ncube would open his tournament with a 6-1, 6-3 win in the round of 64 over Seth Hernandez, while
Diego Orduz would add a 6-3, 6-3 with over Pedja Kolaric, but both would fall in the second round.

Jurkovic and Gonzalez would open doubles play with an 8-2 win over Isfan Makhmudov and Andrea Bramati.

They followed with an 8-6 victory over Cas de Ruiter and Jaydon van Vreden to reach the quarterfinals where they would fall to the fourth-seeded duo of Sebastian Pjontek and Tim Hammes by an 8-4 score.

Ncube and Madzar would open play in doubles with a tough loss in the main draw, but would bounce back strong in the consolation bracket, beginning with a 6-3 win over Joseph Plachy and Christian Cortinas.

The pair would follow with a 6-3 quarterfinal win over third-seeded Sander Jans and Ole Valkyser and added a semifinal victory over Richard Jove and Bryce walker by a 7-6 score to reach the finals.

In the finals, the duo would take on Milosh Petrovic and Andres Urquiola and cruise to a 6-1 win to win the consolation bracket.
