MANHATTAN, Kan. –
Luke Thrash led a dominant team effort in the bareback riding on the men's side while
Bailey Witt took home a goat tying and an all-around championship to lead the women at the Kansas State Rodeo in Manhattan, Kan.

Witt turned in a 5.9 in her first run on the goat tying to win the opening round and followed it with a 5.9 in the finals which split 2
nd/3
rd in the round which helped her to an event title.
Â
She followed that with a 2.9 run in the breakaway which split sixth place in the first round, but a no time in the finals would take her out of the running for a title in the event, but her overall finish would help her to an all-around championship.

In the goat tying,
Jillian Presley would put up a 6.4 run in the first round to split 2
nd/3
rd and would follow up with a 6.2 in the finals which was good for fourth in the round and moved her to split 2
nd/3
rd in the average.

In the breakaway,
Baylee Lester would put together a 3.1 in the first round to place ninth before closing the event with a 3.4 in the finals which was good for third in the round and moved her to fourth in the average.

On the men's side, the Storm dominated the bareback riding with a trio of riders posting top-five finishes.
Â
That group was led by Thrash who carded an 85 on his first ride, winning the round, and followed with a 79 which was good for second in the second go-round and lifting him to a win in the average.

Montana Duvall scored a 75 to open the event which split 3
rd/4
th/5
th in the round before following it up with a second-round 78 which split 3
rd/4
th to help him split 2
nd/3
rd/4
th in the average.

Josh Green rounded out the trio with a first-round ride of 77 which ranked second before adding a second-round ride of 74 points which was seventh in the round and moved him to splitting 4
th/5
th in the average.

Traden Anderson put together a solid showing in the steer wrestling after posting a time of 5.7 which split 5
th/6
th in the first round before coming back in the finals with a time of 11.4 which moved him to splitting third in the average.

Mason Couch would also make the finals after a time of 5.8 to open the event before a no time in the finals would pull him out of the average.

Garrett Elmore teamed with Rowdy Jones form Western Oklahoma State to win the first round of the team roping event with a 6.2 run, but the duo took a no time in the finals and would drop them, to sixth in the average.
Â
Elmore would also find some success on his own as he turned in an 11.9 in the first round of the tie down roping to finish ninth and make the finals where he would clock a run of 11.9 which was good for sixth in the round and lifted him to seventh in the average.

Southeastern rodeo will be back in action March 10-12 at the Fort Scott CC Rodeo in Fort Scott, Kan.
