SE Hosts Rival Tigers in Midweek Action

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will return to the field on short rest when it welcomes rival East Central to the Southeastern Softball Field for a March 14 Great American Conference doubleheader slated to start at 1 p.m.
 
The Savage Storm comes into the midweek matchup with a 13-12 record overall on the year and a 7-2 record in GAC play after taking two of three from Oklahoma Baptist over the weekend.
 
That series win for SE included a series finale when Reese Taylor tossed a complete-game shutout while squaring off with OBU's league-leading pitcher.
 
The win helped even Taylor's record at 4-4 on the season and bring her ERA down to 2.84 with a pair of shutouts.
 
Cheyenne Mahy leads the team with a 4-2 record and a 2.46 ERA while tossing three shutouts, including a no-hitter, while Amberlyn Walsworth is 5-5 on the year with a 4.20 ERA and a team-best 58 strikeouts.
 
Mahy leads the team on offense with a .309 average with three homers and 11 RBI, while Gracie Ore is right behind with a .308 average.
 
Iliana Olivares leads the team in RBI with 14 while hitting .292.
 
ECU enters the matchup with an 8-11 record overall on the season and a 5-4 mark in GAC play, and have won five-straight with a pair of wins over Southern Nazarene and a home series sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State last weekend.
 
Gabi Quintanilla leads the offense with a .347 average, while Elyse LeClair has a team-best 12 RBI.
 
Taryn O'Brien leads the Tiger pitching staff with a 2.12 ERA and a 4-5 record on the year, while Taia Harris has a team-leading 27 strikeouts.
