Kamryn Rackley and
Kady Fryrear each tallied three hits to help pace Southeastern to an 8-6 win over Henderson State in the series opener on Friday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 15-13 overall on the year and 9-3 in Great American Conference play with a doubleheader asset for noon on Saturday to complete the series.

Rackley and Fryrear each posted three hits, while
Sabetha Sands added two, with
Cheyenne Mahy,
Alexis Massie,
Sammi Dutton, and
Bailey Beard each posting one.

Rackley, Sands, Mahy, Fryrear,
Gracie Ore, and Massie would each log an RBI.
Â
Mahy would get the start in the circle but tossed just one ining and was tagged for three runs on three hits in a no decision.

Amberlyn Walsworth would toss the remaining six innings and scatter three runs and five hits over that span while striking out seven to pick up her sixth win of the season.

SE got on the board in the top of the first inning as Mahy doubled home Rackley for the first run and a batter later would come home herself on a Fryrear RBI single to take a 2-0 lead.

The lead lasted until the bottom of the second inning when HSU scored its first run on a bases-loaded walk followed by a pair of RBI groundouts to take a 3-2 lead.

Southeastern would tie the game in the top of the fourth when
Bailey Beard scored on a wild pitch, but the Reddies would retake the lead in the bottom half on an RBI double at 4-3.

That held until the top of the sixth when a Rackley triple would plate Beard to tie the gamer, followed immediately by a Sands sac fly to take a 5-4 lead.

After a Mahy walk and a Fryrear single Ore would bring home a run on an RBI groundout and Massie would plate Fryrear with an RBI single to take a 7-4 lead.

Sands would single in the seventh and an error by the left fielder for HSU would allow Rackley to come around and score to push the lead to 8-4.

The Reddies would tack on a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh on a pair od sacrifice flies, but the Storm would hold on for the 8-6 victory in the series opener.
