Baseball Set for Three-Game Series at OBU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will head back into Great American Conference play when it makes the drive to Shawnee, Okla., to take on Oklahoma Baptist in a three-game series set to begin at 6 p.m. on March 10 with a doubleheader slated for 1 p.m. on March 11.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend winners of five of their last six, lifting the season record to 11-9 overall and 4-5 in GAC play.
 
SE has seen its offense explode over the past two weeks, scoring 15-or-more runs three of the last five outings.
 
Those eruptions have helped the Storm push its team average to .320 on the season, with seven starters hitting better than .300, led by Damon Burroughs who nis hitting .410 with four doubles, four triples, a homer and 21 RBI.
 
Reid Rice was next in line at .380 with nine doubles and 18 RBI, while Seth Morrow and Jake Miller are each hitting .300 or better with the team lead in homers at four apiece.
 
Morrow has racked up 20 RBI, while Cameron French, Joseph Ramirez, Cameron Cromer, and Miller each have double-digit RBI totals.
 
SE's weekend starters have also been solid, with Cole Canuteson posting a team-best 3-0 record while carrying a 3.96 ERA and 29 strikeouts.
 
Connor Priest and Dylan Turner lead the team in ERA among starters at 3.38, while Turner carries a 1-2 record and Priest has 27 strikeouts.
 
The Storm carry a 5.40 ERA as a full staff, with Michael Bart leading the relief effort with 15.2 innings pitched across five appearances with a 2-0 record and a 2.87 ERA.
 
OBU comes in with a 9-8 record on the season and a 4-5 mark in league play and have won two in-a-row and six of its last eight.
 
Jayden Shafer leads the team with a .391 average, while Dan Pruitt has a team-best five homers and Alex Schroeder has driven in 20 RBI.
 
Jake Hamilton leads the pitching staff with a 2.59 ERA and 38 strikeouts, while Brek Galbreath and Garrett Kellogg-Clarke each have a pair of wins.
