Savage Storm Hosts ATU in GAC Home Finale Series

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern softball heads into the final home weekend of the regular season when it hosts Arkansas Tech in a three-game series with the opener slated for a 3 p.m. single game start on April 21, with a doubleheader set for 1 p.m. on April 22.
 
April 22 will also serve as senior day for six Savage Storm seniors, with recognition to take place prior to game one on Saturday.
 
SE comes into the weekend with a 26-21 record on the season overall and a 20-7 mark in Great American Conference play and will be looking to remain withing striking distance of the top spot in the league standing.
 
Sabetha Sands leads the offense with a .360 batting average that includes 14 doubles, a triple, a homer, and 16 RBI.
 
Gracie Ore and Kamryn Rackley are both hitting better than .300 as well, with Ore adding eight doubles and Rackley scoring a team-best 25 runs.
 
Cheyenne Mahy leads the way with six home runs and 22 RBI.
 
In the circle, Amberlyn Walsworth leads the way with 12 wins, a 3.18 ERA and 136 strikeouts.
 
Reese Taylor has a team-best ERA of 2.78 while picking up nine wins and striking out 74.
 
ATU comes into the weekend with a 28-17 record on the season overall and a 17-9 record in league play.
 
Makenzie Goins and Jessica Williams lead the way for the Golden Suns with .313 batting averages, while Makenzie Addis has a team-best nine homers and 39 RBI.
 
Bailey Buffington leads the pitching staff with a 15-7 record, a 1.65 ERA, and 81 strikeouts.
