STILLWATER, Okla. –
Waylon Buquoi and Tyer Griffin took home event championships to help lead the Southeastern men's team to a first-place finish at the Oklahoma State rodeo, while
Emma Ricke turned in the best effort for the women's squad which finished sixth.

Griffin turned in a 78 in the long-go of the bareback riding to win the round and reach t he finals where he would again take first place with a score of 74, sweeping both rounds and winning the average championship.

He was joined in the finals by
Luke Thrash who split second/third with teammate
Colton Matlock with rides of 72, as well as Braden Tyrer who was fourth in the opening round on a ride of 68.

Thrash and Matlock would take no scores in the finals while Tyrer closed with a 64 which was good for second in the round and moved him up to second in the average.
Â
Buquoi would collect an 82 on his first ride in the bull riding and it was enough to win the qualifying round and held up for a win in the average as no rider was able to post a qualifying ride in the finals.

SE had three qualify for the tie down roping finals, with
Blake Carter leading the group with a time of 9.3 which won the opening round, but had to turn out in the finals in order to compete at the Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals.

Rowdy Nimrod was second with a time of 9.5, while
Rodney Jackson qualified in third with a time of 9.8, however, Jackson is the only rider to post a time in the finals, clocking a 13.8 to finish sixth in the round and split fourth/fifth in the average.

Brett Coffman would make the finals in the saddle bronc riding, posting a 68 to finish fourth in the first round, but a no score in the finals dropped him out of contention.

Sid Harvey advanced to the finals in the steer wrestling after a 6.1 left him in sixth place. A 20.0 in the finals would take him out of placing in the finals and move him to sixth overall in the average.

On the women's side, Ricke would advance to the finals in two of the three events, turning in her best effort in the breakaway roping.
Â
There she would make the finals with a time of 2.8, and once there she would improve that to a 2.5, finishing second in the round and third in the average.
Â
She also made the finals in the barrel racing where she clocked a 16.18 to finish 12
th in the round before following up with a fourth-place finish in the finals to move into seventh overall in the average.

She was joined in the finals by
Mollie Bassett who was seventh in the qualifying round with a time of 16.02 before posting a 15.90 in the finals, finishing sixth in the round and splitting fifth/sixth in the average.
Â
Kayleigh Hurst and
Grace Collins would each make the finals in the goat tying, with Collins leading the way after posting a 7.4 in the first round and placing sixth in the finals with a 7.9 to split eighth in the average.
Â
Hurst also posted a 7.4 in the first round, splitting seventh/eighth, but a 9.3 in the finals would drop her out of contention.
