DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern swept the doubles point and carried that momentum into singles play as the Savage Storm picked up a 6-1 victory over Northeastern State on Tuesday afternoon at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

The win improves SE to 4-0 to open the season heading into a Feb. 24 matchup with Midwestern State at 3 p.m. back at the SE Tennis Complex.

The number one duo of
Sara Gonzalez and
Georgia Hosking would pick up a 7-5 win over NSU's Sofia Kotliarova and Alisha Moldakhmetova.

Jou Chen Chen and
Larissa Giraldi Correa followed suit at number two, downing the Riverhawk pair of Leah Gonzales-Edwards and Valeria Teran by a 7-5 margin.

The Storm completed the sweep as
Milana Voloshyn and
Amishi Shukla would take the number three doubles match by a 7-5 score as well, staking the Storm to a 1-0 lead.

NSU would event he match by picking up a win at number four doubles, but that tie was quickly broken when Shukla cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 win over Kotliarova at the number six position to take a 2-1 lead.

Just minutes later Hosking would extend the lead to 3-1 with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Gonzales-Edwards at the number two position.

Vanessa Nitu would clinch the match at the number one position after picking up a 6-4, 7-5 win over Moldakhmetova to take a 4-1 lead.

Giraldi Correa would then pick up a three-set win at number three, 6-4, 5-7, 10-6 to stretch the score to 5-1 before Gonzalez completed the match with a 6-7, 7-6, 10-2 win at number five to make the final score 6-1.
