Baseball Hosts UAM For GAC Home Opener

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern returns to Mike Metheny Field this weekend to host Arkansas-Monticello in its first home Great American Conference series, with game one set for 2 p.m. on Feb. 23 before returning on Feb. 24 for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
 
The Savage Storm enter the weekend with a 6-5 record overall and an 0-3 mark in GAC play following a series sweep at the hand of Southern Arkansas to open the conference schedule last weekend.
 
SE dropped those games by a combined four runs and held leads twice.
 
Nick Hill leads the way with a .515 average for the Storm with two home runs and a team-high 11 RBI.
 
Damon Burroughs, leads a trio of .300 hitters, posting a .386 average with four doubles, two homers, and nine RBI.
 
Reid Rice is next in line with a .317 mark and a team-high three home runs and eight RBI, with Cam Wheeler hitting .316 with a homer and five RBI.
 
Cameron Hauch leads the Storm on the hill with a 2-1 record and a 3.57 ERA and a team-high 16 strikeouts across 17.2 innings pitched.
 
Dylan Turner is 1-0 in three starts with a 5.54 ERA, while Jackson Sioson started the third game of the most recent weekend series and he comes into the weekend with a 3.48 ERA, a 1-1 record, and 11 strikeouts.
 
Coby Langford lead the team's relievers with a 1.80 ERA over seven appearances, while Brody Logsdon has the team's lone save along with a 1-0 record and a 2.45 ERA.
 
UAM comes into the weekend with a 5-5 record on the year and a 3-0 mark in GAC play after sweeping East Central in Monticello, Ark., last weekend.
 
Chaz Poppy leads the way for the Boll Weevils with a .382 average with a heme run and five RBI.
 
Kirk Woolf paces the club in homers with three and RBI with 11.
 
Charles Peacock carries a team-low ERA among starters of 1.74 with a 1-1 record, while Connor Irvine and Maxim Mrakovic have each made starts in all three of their appearances, with Irvine posting a 1-0 record and a team-best 22 strikeouts.
 
Dylan Vail has record a pair of wins in relief while Nelson Mercado has recorded the team's only save.
