DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern softball is set to open Great American Conference play with a road trip to Monticello, Ark., to take on Arkansas-Monticello in a three-game series Feb. 23-24 with a doubleheader slated for 1 p.m. on Friday with the series finale on Saturday at noon.
The Savage Storm enter the weekend at 6-6 overall on the season and are coming off their best travel weekend of the year thus far, posting a 3-1 record at the Raising Cane's Festival.
Sage Harlow leads the way for SE with a .447 average while boasting team-highs in doubles with five and RBI with nine.
Gracie Ore is also north of .400 on the season, hitting .419 with two doubles, a home run, and eight RBI.
Four others are hitting better than .300 on the year, with India McMurry posting a .321 average with team-highs in homers with three and RBI with nine.
Amberlyn Walsworth and
Alyson Malone have each logged a 2-0 record on the year to lead the pitching staff, while
Reese Taylor carries a team-best 3.56 ERA with
Emily Simmons striking out a team-leading 20 batters.
UAM enters the weekend with an 8-6 record on the year following a 3-1 weekend series with Delta State.
The Cotton Blossoms are led by Adrianna Erichsen who is hitting .512 on the season, while Kennedy Cox has collected two homers and a team-high 15 RBI.
Mallory Pitre leads the UAM pitching staff with a 4-2 record, while Sam Stephens carries a team-leading 2.96 ERA, and both are tied with 20 strikeouts apiece.
