SE Baseball Welcomes NSU For Midweek Matchup

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will return to the diamond for the midway point of its seven-game, season-opening home stand as it hosts hosts Northeastern State on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. at Mike Metheny Field.
 
The Savage Storm opened the season 3-0 after sweeping against Colorado-Colorado Springs, taking games 10-1, 5-4, and 11-4.
 
Coby Grimsley leads the SE offense with a .500 average, going 5-for-10 over the opening weekend with a home run and three RBI while scoring a team-best four runs of his own.
 
Nick Hill and John David Muse are matching Grimsley with a .500 average, with each going 3-for-6 to open the year, including a home run and two RBI from Muse.
 
Reid Rice is next in line with a .300 average but has posted a pair of home runs to lead the Storm while adding a triple and driving in three.
 
Damon Burroughs has matched Rice with a .300 average to open the season while adding a double and a pair of stolen bases.
 
Cory Bonstrom leads the way in RBI with six and has added two stolen bases as well.
 
The SE offense scored 26 runs over the first three games of the year and collected 12 extra base hits, including seven homers.
 
The pitching staff is off to a 3-0 start with a 2.16 team ERA, led by Cameron Hauch who picked up a win without align an earned run, while Dylan Turner and Jackson Sioson each earned a win.
 
Brody Logsdon posted a pair of appearances and recorded a save in 2.0 innings pitched, while leading a group of six relievers who have yet to surrender an earned run.
 
Northeastern State started the 2024 season winless, dropping their first four games all to Great American Conference foes.
 
Tyson Fourkiller leads the team with a .385, while Matt Kaiser has a team-high two home runs with four RBI.
 
The Riverhawk pitching staff comes in with a 13.97 ERA as a team and has combined for 23 strikeouts with 17 pitchers seeing action in relief over the opening weekend.
