SE Baseball Set to Welcome Jets

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern baseball will close out its seven-game season opening home stand when it hosts Newman for a three-game series beginning at 2 p.m. Feb. 9 with a doubleheader set for Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. at Mike Metheny Field.
 
The Savage Storm come into the matchup with a 3-1 record on the season after opening the year with a sweep of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
 
Brady Evans paces the Storm offense with a .44 average that includes a homer and four RBI.
 
Coby Grimsley is next in line with a .385 average while adding a homer and three runs batter in.
 
Reid Rice is hitting .357 with a team-best two homers with three RBI, followed by John David Muse who is hitting .333 with a home run and three RBI.
 
Yanluis Ortiz and Cory Bonstrom each have a homer, while Bonstrom is leading the Storm with six RBI.
 
Cameron Houch is the reigning Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week after picking up a win in his first start of the season, allowing one unearned run in six innings with five strikeouts.
 
Dylan Turner and Jackson Sioson each added wins in the first weekend, while Brody Logsdon logged the team's first save of the year.
 
NU comes to town with a 1-4 record on the season after dropping three of four to Southern Nazarene and a midweek matchup at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
 
Garrett Arnold leads the Jets with a .500 average while adding two home runs and four RBI, with Eli Wohl also chipping in two homers with a team-best seven RBI.
 
Lance Elsen logged the team's one win in relief, while Andrew Prieve leads the team with 10 strikeouts over two appearances.
